Ukraine Battlefield Brief: Find out what's been happening on the frontline
The battle for the key eastern city of Pokrovsk is intensifying, with footage showing Ukrainian forces destroying a Russian position using an anti-tank mine.
The strategic point, on a major road and rail network in the Donetsk region, has been contested for well over a year.
Moscow has committed three armies to the battle, pitting roughly 100,000 advancing Russian troops against 20,000 Ukrainian defenders.
Some reports suggest Russian forces have seized several settlements to the north of the city, and Moscow's pincer is closing.
If Russian president Vladimir Putin succeeds in capturing Pokrovsk, it brings him one step closer to his goal of controlling Ukraine's entire industrial east – the Donbas, comprising the neighbouring regions of Donetsk and Luhansk.
