Is Ukraine ready for a spring offensive?
Ukraine's spring offensive could be on the horizon, but are the country's troops truly prepared?
Some reports have framed this spring offensive as Ukraine's make-or-break opportunity to recapture territory held by Russian forces.
When asked about Ukraine being re-supplied in time, military expert and Royal Armoured Corps veteran Justin Crump told Forces News that "overall, Ukraine is supplied pretty well".
Additionally, Mr Crump said that the quality of Russian fortifications in Crimea "is pretty poor - we saw that in Kherson".
"I think a lot of the obstacles that have been laid out haven't been laid out very effectively.
"If Ukraine, again - using the combat engineering equipment, manoeuvre support equipment, they've been given in very large numbers - can break through some of these... and of course fixed defences become a problem - the Iraqi army discovered that during desert storm."
End date for the war
"You're not going to see a spectacular result to finish the conflict," Mr Crump said, adding that the war is likely to "drag on, as many, may wars do" until both sides realise "they can't gain more by fighting".
He believes that, because of this, Ukraine will attempt to continue to "soak it up and try and hold onto the land and create a stalemate".
