War in Ukraine isn't just supported by Vladimir Putin, Russia expert warns

Ukraine is facing the largest Russian offensive since the start of the war two years ago.

One place that Moscow's forces are threatening is Kharkiv, Ukraine's second city.

So why is the city so important to Vladimir Putin, and what happens if Russian wins this war?

Simon Newton went to the London Defence Conference to meet Russia expert Dr Jade McGlynn.

Dr McGlynn has studied Russian propaganda techniques and written a book on how Vladimir Putin has moulded and manipulated the Russian world view.

However, she believes it's wrong to talk about the conflict as "one man's war".

While it was President Putin's decision to go to war, she argues it would not be continuing without the involvement of the vast majority of Russian society.
