F-35B Lightning jets pictured in Singapore after HMS Prince of Wales' arrival in city state

F-35B Lightning jets have been pictured in Singapore as HMS Prince of Wales and the rest of the Carrier Strike Group continue their journey down to Australia.
The Royal Air Force posted several images of the F-35Bs from 617 Squadron and 809 Naval Air Squadron on the flight deck of the 65,000-tonne vessel, with the city's vast skyscrapers standing over the aircraft.
CSG25 is in the Garden City for joint training and to help with regional engagement.
"F-35B Lightning jets are on deck in Singapore as the UK Carrier Strike Group arrives for joint training and regional engagement," the RAF said in the post on X.
"RAF personnel stand ready as part of Op Highmast, showcasing unity and partnership across the Indo-Pacific."
The port call coincided with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the UK and Singapore.
The latest post follows the arrival of HMS Prince of Wales in Singapore.
It was not the first ship to come to the city, as HMS Dauntless had gone ahead of CSG25.
Her departure was strange as she would have usually remained close to the aircraft carrier.
The F-35B Lightning fighter jet is a multi-role stealth aircraft, which can be used for air-to-surface, electronic warfare, intelligence gathering and air-to-air missions.
The jets, which have a 15.6m wingspan, have a short take-off/vertical landing capability, meaning they can operate from smaller aircraft carriers and other difficult environments.
The jet, which flies at Mach 1.6, can fire Paveway IV air-to-surface weapons and Meteor, AMRAAM and ASRAAM air-to-air weapons.

The CSG25 deployment, also widely known as Operation Highmast, involves around 4,500 British military personnel, including nearly 600 RAF and 900 soldiers, alongside 2,500 Royal Navy sailors and Royal Marines.
The final destination on this massive voyage is Australia.
