Eighty years ago, the beaches of Normandy witnessed the largest seaborne invasion in history that marked a decisive turn towards the liberation of Western Europe.
Commemorative events have taken place across the UK and France to honour the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
The solemn commemorations served as an everlasting reminder of the price of freedom and the courage and sacrifices of those who fought for it.

Overhead at the British Normandy Memorial, the Red Arrows pierced the sky leaving their red, white and blue trails.

Meanwhile, Prince William delivered a speech at the ceremony on Juno Beach praising the "bravery and sacrifice of the Canadian troops, who gave so much 80 years ago".
He was joined by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, Canadian D-Day veterans and Armed Forces personnel in Courseulles-sur-Mer in France.
The day also saw soldiers from the Army Air Corps and The Rifles march across Pegasus Bridge as they marked 80 years since British troops first landed in occupied France.
