Commemorating The First Army Bomb Disposal Teams' Courage

A unique guided tour has been launched to commemorate the courage of the first Army bomb disposal teams.

75 years ago just a few dozen soldiers from the Royal Engineers tackled the growing menace of live weapons being discovered in the rubble after German air raids.

Theirs has been described as the most 'dangerous and lonely' job in the military.

Now, modern-day ordnance disposal specialists will lead people in the footsteps of those early-day heroes.
