The Headquarters of British Forces Germany is a regular port of call for military leaders, senior politicians and other dignitaries visiting the troops there.
But the latest person to be formally welcomed by the Headquarters’ commander is a German interpreter with the Royal Military Police in Gutersloh.
It all happened thanks to BFBS Radio in Germany and its annual Big Salute charity auction.
