Forces Network's Ali Gibson has looked at the story of McCrae's Battalion and how some of Scotland's most famous footballers went to war in 1914.

They were the battalion of Edinburgh volunteers, made up of footballers and other professional and amateur sportsmen.

It was the first of the so-called 'footballers' battalions' to be raised during the war.
