War Horse Ride: Remembering The Great War's Cavalry

Riders dressed in period uniforms and carrying period weapons, set out last year to retrace the route taken by thousands of men and horses of the British Expeditionary Force during the Great War.

The path they followed recreated the long retreat after the Battle of Mons, with each rider representing a unit that formed part of the Cavalry Division in 1914.

On the way the riders took part in a memorial service to mark the moment of military history when the Allies met German soldiers for the first time since they had begun the retreat from Mons.

Forces TV's Hannah King was there as they set off on the War Horse Ride, raising funds for military charity the 'Not Forgotten Association' on the way.
