The launch of a charity cycling event called 'Wheels on the Western Front 2016' has taken place in Central London.

Starting in Folkestone next July, it will take the route of Kitchener's Army, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme.

Covering over 50 miles a day, the route will take in the major battle sites and the historical monuments at Thiepval, Vimy and The Menin Gate, giving an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices of British soldiers 100 years ago.
