Nicola Sturgeon Joins Forces #IRemember Campaign
Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister of Scotland, has lent her support to our #IRemember campaign, which is running as part of this year's remembrance commemorations.
Ms Sturgeon paid tribute to the fallen, to Armed Forces veterans and to those who serving in the military today. She said:
"I remember all the servicemen and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in conflicts during the last century and more recently.
"Remembrance Sunday is an opportunity for all of Scotland to join with others right across the world to honour the memory of those who lost their lives while also paying tribute to our veterans and those who continue to serve today.
"We must learn from the inherited memories of those who have served to ensure that we never forget the sacrifices that have been made in defence of our country."
The SNP Leader is one of hundreds of people to join our #IRemember campaign in the run-up to Armistice Day - posting brief tributes to relatives or loved ones who served our country and using the #IRemember hashtag on social media.
They might have seen action in either World War, they might have served in peacetime, they might have been killed in action or lived a long and happy life after leaving the forces; they might have not have served in uniform but supported the war effort in another way. It's up to you to remember whoever you choose.
