Houthi rebels upping their game in Red Sea with more advanced drone boats

Watch: Houthi drone attack from the target ship's perspective

With attacks on Red Sea shipping continuing, the Houthi rebels behind them are upping their game with more high-tech drone technology.

Footage of a Houthi rebel attack against the Transworld Navigator merchant vessel in the Red Sea has been released showing an explosion caused by an uncrewed surface vessel.

The video shows the Houthi Tutan 1 drone, which reportedly can carry a warhead of up to 1,500kg, reach speeds of up to 45 nautical mph, and be piloted manually or remotely, exploding when it strikes the vessel.

Despite the explosion seen on camera, it is reported that the Transworld Navigator was not seriously damaged and continued its journey.
