A man has filmed himself confronting a group of soldiers in Oman over the deployment of UK military assets to support Israel, with the Ministry of Defence saying it is "aware" of the incident.
A video shows the man approaching the military personnel in a canteen and telling them to leave following the deployment of a task force to the eastern Mediterranean.
The man approaches the table the UK personnel are sitting at and tells them: "This country is f**king viceroy – you should get out of here.
"Piece of s**t – it’s time for you to leave from here."
The group asks the man to stop filming before he criticises the UK for the deployment of two RFA ships following the attacks by Hamas on Israel and the retaliatory airstrikes by the Israeli Defence Force on the Gaza Strip.
The man said: "Your president sent two ships for Israel."
One of the group – a captain – is then seen walking away from the table.
The UK has sent a taskforce to the region to "reinforce regional stability and prevent escalation".
RFA Lyme Bay and RFA Argus have been deployed along with three Merlin Helicopters, P-8 Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft and a company of Royal Marines.
A Ministry of Defence spokesperson said: "We are aware of service personnel being approached and recorded in Oman.
"The safety of our Armed Forces is of utmost importance and security is constantly kept under review."
