German howitzer used in Ukraine takes centre stage on major NATO exercise

NATO's largest artillery exercise has been taking place in southern Germany, with gunners from 19 countries taking part in Exercise Dynamic Front 22 at the US Army's huge Grafenwoehr Training Area in Bavaria.

But the star of the show was Germany's Panzer Haubitzer 2000 – the world's most powerful self-propelled howitzer, or driveable long-range gun.

It is capable of firing 155mm rounds, accurately hitting targets 25 miles away and has been used by Ukraine to pound Russian positions.
