Aldershot Garrison Sports Centre is set to reopen after a visitor tested positive for coronavirus.

The complex is undergoing a "thorough clean" and will reopen on Wednesday, said Aspire Defence Services who run the facility.

The person who was diagnosed with COVID-19 visited the Hampshire centre last Tuesday.

It has been closed since yesterday, under the instruction of Aldershot Garrison Command.

Military sports events due to take place at the centre in the coming days were cancelled, including basketball and martial arts.

The centre is used by both civilians and military personnel.

In a statement, the centre thanked its customers for their "patience and understanding".
