Appeal After Military Medals Stolen From Beach

Four military medals are among a number of items stolen from a man's bag while he was swimming at a beach.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, August 21 at a beach in the town of Bridlington in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

The victim had left his bag on the beach while swimming and returned to discover the medals, along with a wallet, cash and clothing were missing.

In a statement, Humberside Police said: "The theft happened near the Royal British Legion on the Promenade between 9.45am and 11.30am on 21 August.

"The victim had left his bag on the beach near to a beach hut. When he returned, his belongings had been stolen."

Details on the four stolen medals include:

  • Northern Ireland Medal: Green and Purple. Regiment number 25183263 on the side.
  • Iraqi Medal: Black and Red stripes. Regiment number 25183263 on the side.
  • UN Medal: Navy Blue.
  • ACSM Medal: Green, Purple, and Orange.
