British Army Soldier Dies In Estonia

Fusilier Sam Brownridge

A British Army soldier deployed to Estonia has died of a "non-battle injury".

An Army spokesperson named the individual as Fusilier Sam Brownridge and said he died on 5 July.

The spokesperson said: "It is with great sadness we can confirm Fusilier Sam Brownridge has died of a non-battle injury while deployed in Estonia on 5 July 2020.

"Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this tragic time.

"A full investigation is underway and it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage."

Roughly 900 British personnel are deployed to Estonia as part of NATO's Enhanced Forward Presence mission.
