Ferrari Class: British Forces Kids Growing Up In Naples

Forces schools have a hard-earned reputation for the quality of education they provide for the children of service personnel.

Front and centre at the British Forces School Naples is ensuring the children, who are constantly arriving or leaving, "fit in" and are happy.

The purpose-built facility, which is less than five years old, is the third British school in the region.

It caters for 60 youngsters of deployed personnel at nearby NATO base Allied Joint Force Command Naples.

The school boasts six teachers and four classes named after Italian sports cars - Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati and Alfa Romeo - which see some ages grouped together.

It also has specific learning zones for different activities like cookery, music and art, along with its form rooms.

Forces News has been finding out how understanding and embracing the children's locale is promoted - and how it's paying off.
