Flying High: Thousands Attend Biggin Hill Airshow

Thousands of people have attended Biggin Hill's sixth annual airshow in Kent.

The Festival of Flight ran throughout the weekend at Biggin Hill airport.

It was a chance for many to attend the airfield that played a pivotal role in the Battle of Britain.

Taking to the skies were 12 multi-aircraft teams and 54 aircraft including a Typhoon.

Former RAF Red Arrows pilot Mike Ling returned to his hometown of Biggin Hill, displaying with The Blades aerobatic team:

"The first time I ever displayed here as part of Synchro Pair, I got really distracted by seeing some of the local sites, my old schools and the valley.

"I forgot to make a radio call which made our pattern all go awry so I'm going to be focusing on the flying and making sure the display is perfect.

"I want everyone on the ground to think how good the Blades are and enjoy the display."
