Former Irish Soldier 'Detained In Syria' Under Suspicion Of Joining ISIS

A former Irish soldier who converted to radical Islam has reportedly been detained in Syria.
She has been named in Irish media as 37-year-old Lisa Smith and previously served in the Irish Defence Forces.
The Irish Independent reported she was from the town of Dundalk in the Republic of Ireland.
Irish police have made contact with her family.
The Police service of the Republic of Ireland, Garda Síochána, said in a statement: "Garda Síochána is aware of an Irish woman who left Ireland three or four years ago having become radicalised.
"She was previously a member of the Irish Defence Forces."
It's reported she left the Irish Defence Force in 2011 and moved to Syria in 2015 after the collapse of her marriage.
