Globe-trotting Royal Engineers upgrade Army's main German base

Royal Engineers normally based in northern Scotland have resurfaced roads and felled trees at risk of falling down in Germany, giving an Army base a makeover.

Personnel from 53 Field Squadron, part of Kinloss-based 39 Engineer Regiment, have been upgrading the NATO Forward Holding Base in Sennelager – where the British Army in Germany facilitates a variety of training exercises

Some of the tasks undertaken included the removal of trees posing a risk to life below and the installation of windows in mock houses set up for drills in specific scenarios.
