Key Islamic State Media Activist Killed In Airstrike
The founder of one of the main so-called Islamic State (IS) media outlets has been killed in an air strike in eastern Syria, activists said.
The death of Baraa Kadek, founder of the Aamaq news agency, was also reported by his brother on Facebook.
IS itself has not confirmed Kadek's death.
Kadek and his daughter were said to have been killed in an air strike in Mayadeen town in Deir el-Zour province.
Mayadeen has become a refuge for IS leaders as the group comes under attack in Mosul in Iraq and their de facto capital, Raqqa.
Syrian opposition news outlets, including Halab News Network and Qasioun news agency, reported Kadek's death late on Wednesday.
Kadek became known as a media activist covering the outbreak of protests in 2011 and subsequent rebel fronts.
He joined IS in 2013.
