Meet Hannah Shergold: The Invictus Artist

Hannah Shergold is the Team UK resident artist at the Invictus Games.

Last June she donated three pieces of artwork to a team UK fundraiser.

The artwork managed to raise £30,000 for the team.

So this year the board asked her to come back and paint three more pieces.

We spoke to Hannah at Sydney Olympic Park where she showed us the new paintings:

"I wanted to capture as much of the different sports as I could and also the different disabilities and injuries as I could".

Her main painting feature athletes competing in the Sydney games, the I AM logo and the Sydney opera house.

The other two paintings are of Prince Harry and David Beckham, the idea was to make artwork for people that may be as interested in an obvious link to the Invictus Games.

Currently the highest bidder for the David Beckham piece is someone who has nothing to do with the military or the games.

100% of the proceeds from the auction will go toward continuing Team UK's journey in the Invictus Games as they will begin to work towards The Hague 2020.

Hannah herself has served in the British Military and lost a friend in Afghanistan so the cause is something that is very close to her heart.
