First Steel Cut On HMS Medway

The construction of the second of three Royal Navy offshore patrol vessels has taken a big step forward as the first steel was cut at a ceremony in Glasgow.
 
 
HMS Medway is being built by BAE Systems to provide maritime security for the UK, as well as maintaining shipbuilding skills before the Type 26 warship programme begins.
