RAF Marham's Raging Bull takes its place at the gate, but Tornado remains official guardian

RAF Marham, home to the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy's F-35 Lightning stealth fighter force, has added a striking new addition at one of its gates – a 180kg metal bull.
Cast from recycled materials, the sculpture now stands where a Tornado once was, but it has not replaced the iconic aircraft.
The Tornado was moved several years ago to where the Victor aircraft was located, leaving an empty space, which has now been filled by the bull.

The Tornado GR4 remains RAF Marham's official gate guardian, a term used to describe aircraft or vehicles that stand as a symbol of the base's history.
The gate guardian is typically placed at the main entrance.
The Tornado, having replaced the Victor a few years ago, still stands proudly opposite the station headquarters, keeping watch over the base as the symbolic protector of Marham.
Meanwhile, the newly installed bull is referred to as the Guardian of a Gate.
The bull was purchased by the warrant officers and seniors mess from local company Home and Garden UK.
At night, it is illuminated with blue lights, referencing the blue bull that is featured on Marham's station crest.
The crest, approved in 1957, showcases a blue bull and the word Deter' symbolising the base's role in deterrence during the Cold War and its association with the first British atomic bomb, Blue Danube.
