Canadian Armed Forces Serving in UK Presented With Freedom Of Entry To Folkestone
Canadian armed forces were presented with Freedom of Entry to Folkestone, the highest honour that a Town Council can offer.
On Wednesday, personnel from the Royal Canadian Air Force paraded through Folkestone, a town with which they share a strong history.
Over 100 personnel were involved, along with crowds who watched on as the Royal Canadian Air Force band played.
Following the parade, personnel paid their respects at the nearby Shorncliffe military cemetery, where there are 305 Canadian graves.
At the request of a family in Canada, a poppy was laid at one of the graves.
The Royal Canadian Air Force will continue carrying out their duties in the UK until the 15 July.
