Russian Troops Killed By 'Terrorists' In Syria

PICTURE: PA
Four Russian soldiers have been killed in eastern Syria following an attack on an army artillery position.
Russia’s Defence Ministry says those killed were military advisers attached to a Syrian army unit in the Deir el-Zour region.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group is reported to have said the attacks had been carried out by Islamic State fighters and that 35 Syrian government troops were killed, including nine Russians.
Russian military support to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has been crucial in helping his forces recapture territory.
Russia and Syria both refer to the armed opposition as terrorists.
