Army Parachutist Survives Drop During Display

An Army parachutist has survived with 'minor grazes' after his display jump went wrong, and he fell 5,000 feet to the ground.

It happened at the Eastbourne Air Show at the weekend.

The parachutist was believed to be from The Tigers Army Parachute Display Team, Princess of Wales Royal Regiment.

The regiment has been contacted for comment.

His teammates landed in the water, while he spiralled to the ground below.

Daniel Blocksidge was visiting a nearby beach with his family, when he noticed the situation in the sky and took footage on his mobile phone.

He told Forces News, "I was surprised they jumped as the winds were really strong.

"I knew he was in trouble, he didn't look in control."

He described the incident as "a lucky escape."
