Syrian Base Struck By Israeli Missiles, Country's Army Says

Israeli jets have attacked the Syrian T4 air base in Homs on Tuesday, according to the Syrian Army.
It says the base, which is also known as Tiyas air base, downed several missiles using its air defences.
However, four Israeli missiles did cause what the Syrian Army is describing as "some material damage".
"The Israeli air force conducted new aerial aggression and immediately our air defences confronted the enemy missiles," a statement said.
The Israel Defence Forces have not commented on the attack.
Western intelligence says T4 is a base used by Iran's Revolutionary Guards in Syria.
Israel has repeatedly bombed Iranian-backed militia targets in Syria, saying its goal was to end Tehran's military presence in the country.
Tuesday's strikes are the first which Syria accused Israel of undertaking since the US killed Iran's Qassem Soleimani on 3 January.
