Tri-Service Nominations Wanted For 'Soldiering On' Awards
The 'Soldiering On' Awards for 2019 have been launched at the National Army Museum in London.
Politicians and celebrities were among hundreds of people that attended the event, including Defence Minister, Tobias Ellwood, and TV actress, Vicki Michelle.
Although called ‘Soldering On’ the awards are Tri-Service and aim to honour those who have provided an outstanding contribution to the Armed Forces Community.

Anne Donoghue has been Chief Executive of the event since 2015. She believes the awards acknowledges the valuable contribution of servicemen and women.
“We exist to recognises the amazing achievements of people who have served and what they do in terms of their own personal achievements and what they have given back to society as a whole.”
The Minister for Defence People and Veterans, Tobias Ellwood, officially launched the awards. The MP and former Royal Green Jackets Officer, expressed his gratitude to the men and women who have chosen to serve.
“When you join the Armed Forces, no matter how long you stay and even when you retire, you will be looked after by this nation. By a very, very, grateful nation. And in practice that is delivered by some of the people I hope that will be recognised at the award ceremony in April next year.”

Among the guests at the launch was a previous awards winner, David Smith. The former RAF Flight Lieutenant said he was delighted with his accolade.
"Being nominated was such a huge privilege and unexpected as well. It's a very humbling experience indeed"
Nominations for next year's 'Soldiering On' Awards are being sought in 12 categories, from inspiration and sporting excellence to business and family values, and the process closes on the 30th September.
