Devonport Royal Dockyard is facing legal action following an incident involving a crane.

The Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is accusing the Dockyard of a health and safety breach at 9 Dock, where it says a stack of test weights were being disassembled and fell, "narrowly missing" a worker in September last year.

The ONR is the UK’s independent nuclear safety regulator.

Proceedings will begin at Plymouth Magistrates' Court in July.

An ONR spokesperson said: "For legal reasons we are unable to comment further on the details of the case as it is now the subject of active court proceedings."
