War Veteran In His 90s Robbed Inside His Own Home

An elderly war veteran was robbed in his home, moments after saying goodbye to a friend.
The unnamed victim, who is in his 90s, was attacked when the front door to his property in Wigan was pushed open by the assailant shortly before 10pm on Thursday October 12.
He was pushed to the floor and the man then pulled the victim’s trousers, ripping them, and stole his wallet. The offender then fled.
Police said the wallet contained cash and bank cards.
Detective Sergeant Phil Housley said:
"This was a horrific incident, in which a war veteran who served on submarines in World War II, was targeted and robbed in his own home."
"He had just enjoyed a visit from a friend before he was confronted by a man who pushed his way into his house and forcefully robbed him.
"Fortunately, the victim wasn't hurt but has been left shaken and scared in his own home. Please help us catch whoever did this by getting in touch with any information you have."
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
