It's pomp, plumes and powder smoke as Falkland Islanders greet new Governor

The Falkland Islands have welcomed their new Governor, Colin Martin-Reynolds, with a military parade and gun salute.
The parade was attended by members of the Armed Forces, as well as volunteers from the Falkland Islands Defence Force - the locally maintained volunteer defence unit in the Islands.
Gavin Phillip Short, a member of the Legislative Assembly, pointed out how the smoke from the gun salute wafted back over the parade.
He posted on X: "At the parade this morning for the swearing in of our new Falklands Governor, Mr Colin Martin-Reynolds CMG [Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George], the customary gun salute was fired.
"One of the joys of doing this with a rather brisk north wind is that you kind of get everything back."
In addition to taking over as Governor of the Falkland Islands, Mr Martin-Reynolds also becomes His Majesty's Commissioner for South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands.
