King recalls memories of BFBS as Charles and Camilla meet staff at Buckingham Palace

BFBS staff met and spoke to the King and Queen as they attended an unforgettable reception at Buckingham Palace.
The King invited four members of the BFBS team to the reception which celebrated the very best of the UK's film and television industry.
And while our staff got to rub shoulders with some of the biggest names in film and TV, meeting and speaking to the King and Queen was the standout.
BFBS stalwart Sports Editor Jon Knighton said the King told him he was "delighted" that the charity was still going strong and recalled the role it played during his time in the Royal Navy.
Jon said the King told him that whilst commanding HMS Bronington in 1976, one of his jobs was to organise the films provided by BFBS for the ship's company.

Adam Hardwick, Deputy Director TV & Cinemas, and Jennifer Holdford, Cinema Operations Manager, explained to the King and Queen how this is a service BFBS continues to provide almost 50 years on.
Jon said he and the King, who is today celebrating his 76th birthday, also discussed the Queen's role as Patron of BFBS.
Jon also got to spend time with the Duke of Edinburgh and discussed winter sports with the Duchess who is Patron of UKAF winter sports.
The BFBS staff said the evening was fantastic and a career highlight.
BFBS is the parent charity of BFBS Forces News which aims to entertain, inform, connect and champion the UK Armed Forces across the globe.
