In pictures: Duchess of Edinburgh tries her hand at survival skills at BATSUB in Belize

The Duchess of Edinburgh has visited British Army Training Support Unit Belize (BATSUB).

During her engagement in Belize, she met personnel and lit a fire as she was shown survival skills in the jungle.

BATSUB is the British Army's biggest training base in the Caribbean, where soldiers help partners across the region to develop peace and security in collaboration with local forces.

Twelve permanent staff and more than 100 local civilians run the base at Price Barracks, while the unit carries out up to five dismounted close combat exercises annually.

The base also hosts the final exercise of the British Army's Platoon Commander's Battle Course.
