Nato Falcons and Hornets scrambled again after Russian drone attack on Ukraine

Nato fighter jets have been forced to scramble in response to a Russian drone attack on Ukraine close to the Romanian border.
Four Spanish and Romanian aircraft were deployed due to a series of drone attacks in Ukraine, near the river border with Romania, in Tulcea County, the Romanian Ministry of National Defence said.
It is the second time in six days that the Nato aircraft have been scrambled in response to Russian drones targeting Ukraine.
Romania's radar surveillance system did not detect any intrusion by Russian drones into its national airspace.
The Romanian MOD said two Spanish Air Force F/A-18 Hornets and two Romanian Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcons aircraft took off to monitor the situation.
It said: "The Russian forces conducted drone attacks on the civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine, near the river border with Romania, in Tulcea County.
"Two of the Spanish Air Force F-18 aircraft and two Romania Air Force F-16 aircraft took off to monitor the situation."

The Spanish aircraft, which are in the country as part of Nato's air policing mission, returned to base at 03:00.
The Romanian government condemned the attack by Russia.
