2 YORKS Deployed Over Flood Fears
100 soldiers are currently travelling from Catterick to Skegness to help deal with bad weather.
High tides and gales are expected to bring disruption along the coast overnight tonight.
The soldiers will be split into teams to go door-to-door with police, to warn and inform the public.
Lincolnshire Police said the area of "most concern" was between Donna Nook in the north and Gibraltar Point in the south, with 3,000 properties being monitored.
There are no immediate plans to evacuate buildings.
Another 100 soldiers will relieve them in the early hours of the morning.
2 YORKS, based in Catterick are currently one of the UK's three standby battalions - ready to deploy at a moment's notice, should their help be needed.

A severe weather warning from the Met Office is currently in place for snow in the following regions.
- South West England (Yellow)
- East of England (Yellow)
- Wales (Yellow)
- London & South East England (Yellow)
- West Midlands (Yellow)
- East Midlands (Yellow)
Rain moving eastwards across the south of the UK today may turn to snow in places.
The most likely scenario is for 2 to 4cm to fall at high grounds across parts of south-east England, with 1 to 2 cm to fall at low levels.
However, there remains a small chance of snow settling more widely with 5 to 10 cm at low levels this evening, leading to disruption to road, rail and air services as well as interruptions to power supplies and other utilities - this is more likely across East Anglia and south-east England.
Across Wales and western England snow will more likely be confined to high ground.
Associated heavy rain and strong winds may prove additional hazards.
As skies clear this evening and tonight there is also the potential for widespread ice to form quite rapidly on untreated surfaces.
