The Army's First Female Brigade Commander
The British Army has given Brigadier Sharon Nesmith command of the 1st United Kingdom Signal Brigade, marking a historic milestone in services history.
For the first time, a woman will be in command of an operational brigade - 1st UK Signals, which provides communications support to any military operation.
The four units that comprise the brigade are at short notice to be deployed anywhere in the world.
