Emotional Final Day for Highest-Ranking Army Commander in Germany
The highest-ranking army commander in Germany is leaving the country today as part of the drawdown operation.
It's been an emotional day for Major General John Henderson, as he bid a final farewell to his colleagues after more than 30 years of service, driving out of Catterick Barracks in a vintage Beetle.
He's the last of a long line of commanders spanning 70 years to head up the British army in the country.
Forces TV's Rob Olver, meanwhile, caught up with him recently and asked about the legacy he'll be leaving behind, and whether the heightened tensions in the Middle East and Ukraine could impact on the drawdown.
