Look inside the yacht taking a Royal Engineers crew on six-month adventure
A group of British Army Royal Engineers are taking part in a six-month sailing adventure to South Georgia.
Atlantic Quest will see the Sappers rely on their 72ft steel sailing vessel 'Adventure' to transport all 15 members of their group safely.
One of the group members in the video above explained to Forces News exactly what it is like to live on board the yacht they are sailing in.
"We'll start in England, setting off from Dover (last Friday) then sail down through Portugal, to the Canaries, across the Atlantic, then sailing down the east coast of South America all the way down to the Falklands until we head across to South Georgia," Lieutenant Ollie Dalziel, 49 Field Squadron EOD, told Forces News.
He added: "Then after that, we'll sail back up through the east coast, finishing in Grenada."
There are six legs of the journey, with each one estimated to take about a month, and a different 15-person crew will tackle each leg.
The yacht has been used on many occasions for sailing around the world and has even competed in around-the-world races.
Currently, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) has two of these vessels in its inventory to take soldiers, sailors and aviators sailing around the world on expeditions, just like Atlantic Quest.
