"RNAS Culdrose Has A Very Strong Future"
The commanding officer of Royal Naval Air Station (RNAS) Culdrose has moved to quell fears about the future of the base, saying it has a very strong future.
Concerns have been raised over what will happen to the air station after the privatisation of 771 Naval Air Squadron, which is due to take place at the end of the year.
There's also been questions over the effect this will have on search and rescue capability.
A packed flying display is taking place, meanwhile, at the station, for its annual air day - 771 Search and Rescue Squadron's last.
Members of the public are meeting aircrew who have served in front line squadrons all over the world, as well as the teams that help to keep the helicopters flying, from engineers to logisticians.
