
Royal Navy flagship HMS Queen Elizabeth gets new Commanding Officer

HMS Queen Elizabeth has welcomed her new Commanding Officer during a ceremony in Portsmouth.
Captain Will King OBE will take charge of the Royal Navy's flagship, taking over from Captain Ian Feasey.
Capt King has previously commanded HMS Trumpeter and HMS Penzance, as well as being part of future planning within the Carrier Strike Group staff ahead of HMS Queen Elizabeth's maiden deployment in 2021.

He later commanded HMS Montrose in 2022 and was awarded an OBE for his service.
His predecessor, outgoing Commanding Officer Captain Feasey, served as the Military Assistant to the Fleet Commander before he took charge of HMS Queen Elizabeth in September 2021.
HMS Queen Elizabeth recently arrived back in Portsmouth after a successful period of sea trials and will head out on deployment to the Mediterranean later this year.
