Air-to-air photographic sortie captures multinational flavour of multi-role warplanes

Photographers from the UK and Polish armed forces have boarded a Polish CASA C-295M to shoot some incredible images of jets taking part in Operation Chessman.
Polish air force, Swedish air force and Royal Air Force crews were involved in the multinational air-to-air photographic sortie.
The Poles flew their MiG-29 and F-16, while the RAF took to the skies in a Typhoon and the Swedes operated the capable JAS 39 Gripen.
Op Chessman is an enhanced air policing mission, which is part of Nato's commitment to maintaining regional security and airspace integrity.
The mission is based at 22 Tactical Air Base in Malbork in northern Poland.

In March, II Army Cooperation (AC) Squadron's RAF Typhoons from RAF Lossiemouth arrived in Poland for the operation.
This latest deployment demonstrates the UK's commitment to supporting Nato allies and promoting the collective security of Europe.

140 EAW deployment is part of Nato's ongoing air policing programme, which safeguards local airspace in areas with limited local air defence resources.
The mission helps show the importance of maintaining peace and stability across the region.
