Commander of British Forces Cyprus on Island's Strategic Importance
The new commander of British Forces Cyprus has been speaking about the increasing importance of the island as a strategic military location.
In his first interview with Forces TV, Air Vice-Marshal Mike Wigston said he was impressed with the work taking place on the British bases and within the Sovereign Base Areas.
Despite the increasing pressure of operations, he added that he's keen to ensure standards remain high and to increase support for personnel stationed on the island.
