Low cloud ruins high hopes for Red Arrows as team cancel Niagara Falls flypast

Poor weather has scuppered a Red Arrows flypast over Niagara Falls which was set to have been one of the display team's highlights from their tour in Canada.
The RAF's aerobatic display team had been due to take off from Toronto airport and fly over the famous landmark, but bad conditions at both the airport and the Falls meant the flypast did not go ahead.
"Unfortunately, due to low cloud and poor visibility at Toronto Pearson, the planned flypast at Niagara Falls will not be possible," the Red Arrows wrote on social media.
"The team would not be able to safely depart or land back at the airport. Weather over the location is also worsening and safety must be our priority."
An image posted by the team showed 176ft Niagara Falls barely visible.
The Red Arrows arrived in Canada last week after being invited by the Royal Canadian Air Force to tour across six cities in celebration of its centenary, taking part in a number of displays.
The team are also performing flypasts at iconic Canadian locations.
They are still expected to fly over the Old Port of Montreal, the harbour of St John's and central Ottawa.
The Canadian tour is known as Maple Hawk 2024 and also aims to celebrate the Red Arrows' 60th season.
