RAF A400M Atlas drops seven tonnes of aid into Gaza in latest relief run from the UK
The RAF has parachuted seven tonnes of aid into Gaza as part of the UK's latest relief effort for the Palestinian people.
The Ministry of Defence released images that showed the aid being dropped into Gaza from an A400M Atlas aircraft.
This latest drop means 35 tonnes of aid, on 40 pallets, have now been parachuted into Gaza in the last week.
The UK began dropping aid into Gaza on 25 March amid continuing bottlenecks at border crossings.
The aid has consisted of water, rice, cooking oil, flour, tinned goods and baby formula for the people of Gaza.
The UK and its allies continue to work on a new sea route to get aid into Gaza, amid international warnings that its civilians are on the verge of famine.
While the sea route and air drops are aimed at providing extra methods of helping Gazans, UK Foreign Office minister Andrew Mitchell has insisted that land-based aid crossings from Israel into the Palestinian territory is the best way to help people.
In March, an RAF Atlas parachuted aid into Gaza for the first time, with a further two drops taking place last week.
