The RAF's unsung heroes keeping Typhoons in the air
The RAF's unsung heroes on the ground ensure jets are fuelled, armed, safe and ready to take to the air as pilots fly out on operations.
They make sure all the equipment is in the right place and the base is safe and secure.
The video above shows what goes on behind the scenes as Forces News joined the RAF's unsung heroes on Operation Azotize as part of Nato's Baltic Air Policing mission.
RAF Typhoon pilots secured Nato's eastern flank during the deployment, but the air crews' missions were made possible thanks to the RAF teams on the ground working around the clock to keep the aircraft in the air.

The pilots from RAF Lossiemouth benefited from 24-hour support from RAF colleagues and personnel from the Estonian Defence Force, as well as members of both the German and Spanish air forces.
The deployment of 200 personnel and six Typhoons on Operation Azotize included flight technicians, engineers, members of the RAF Regiment, and the RAF Police.
