SAS: Who Dares Wins Ant Middleton On His Admiration For Britain's Armed Forces
SAS: Who Dares Wins star Ant Middleton joined thousands of forces families for Party In The Park in Catterick and took the time to speak to Forces Radio BFBS about his admiration for serving personnel.
The former sniper spent four years with the Special Boat Service before appearing as Chief Instructor on the Channel 4 series where former Special Forces soldiers put recruits through a recreation of the SAS selection process.
"It's great to be back. Last time I was in Catterick was 19 years ago and I was getting thrashed on P Company."
The TV presenter posed for selfies, chatted to members of the public and showed his support for today's Armed Forces.
"I look at them and I think, cor I used to be part of that...
"... they do so much more than protect us you know. They're here from a humanitarian point of view.
"They're out there helping to save lives in this country whether it be a conflict, a disaster or just an exercise that they're on.
"These guys are changing lives and without wanting anything in return."
The free outdoor music concert, organised by Garrison HQ, brought together an impressive line up of acts alongside military stands, food vendors and fun fair rides.
Fresh from touring with Steps, Max Restaino entertained the crowds, before Tesni Jones from ITV's The Voice got the audience rocking.
Grammy-nominated & Ivor Novello award-winning songwriter, Eliot Kennedy, headlined the show with his Rock & Soul Review.
The Sheffield based producer has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry including the Spice Girls, Take That and Boyzone.
The Yorkshireman was joined on stage by singer Joanne Hesleden-Edwards to perform a version of his hit song "When You're Gone", made famous by Bryan Adams and Melanie C.
"There's something quite special about that, when you... realise you are a part of the soundtrack of other people's lives."
In 2013, Eliot visited Camp Bastion in Afghanistan with Gary Barlow where the pair performed for the troops on Op Herrick.
