Britain's £100 Million Defence Deal To Develop Turkish Fighter Jet

Britain and Turkey have signed a deal worth more than 100 million pounds to develop Turkish jets.
The Prime Minister believes this deal will strengthen ties with Turkey, as she guides Britain out of the European Union.
Theresa May said the deal showed:
“That Britain is a great, global, trading nation and that we are open for business”.
The deal announced by May and Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim, involved BAE systems and TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industries). They will work together to create the TF-X Turkish fighter programme.
BAE Systems chief Executive, Ian King, believes the deal was the next step in deepening defence cooperation. In a statement he said:
“It will also pave the way for a deeper defence partnership and could effectively make the UK Turkey’s partner of choice, positioning it as a key aerospace technology exporter to Turkey”
King also believes this deal could see the UK win more contacts to provide engines, weapons, radars and sensors.
