Caribbean contribution to the UK Armed Forces marked with service

It is estimated that around 16,000 West Indians volunteered for service alongside the British in the Second World War alone

Over centuries of conflict involving the British, there has been a Caribbean contribution fighting either in or with the UK Armed Forces.

West Indians, who have spent generations fighting for equality, have stepped up in their thousands to fight with Britain in the World Wars and beyond.
